Fire Ceremonies

 

Fire & Despacho ceremonies are a way for us to set aside the personal hectic daily life and engage at a mythic level with the Divine Mystery.  Fire symbolizes the energy of transmutation — to change or alter in form, appearance, or nature and especially to a higher form.  The fire ceremony is an opening for healing distinctive habits and patterns.  We can use it as a means to ask Spirit to assist us in what we want to transmute or change within ourselves.

 

We start the evening with making a despacho, which is a beautiful, unique way to reconnect to nature and to come into harmony with others, yourself, and all of Creation.  In this ceremony, we express our deepest love and gratitude for all our gifts — even our “blessings in disguise.”  By doing so, we manifest our intentions to draw more abundance into our lives.

 

After the despacho ceremony, we will conclude the evening with burning the despacho at the Fire Ceremony to carry our prayers to the higher realm.  Reflect upon and bring to the fire how we can bring our lives into “balance” or “right relationship” within ourselves, with others, and all of creation.  Plant the seeds of vision and inspiration in your new beginnings!

 

Fire/despacho ceremonies are usually held on the solstices and equinoxes.  The ceremony will be held outdoors.  Dress for the weather!  In the event of severe weather, a candle fire ceremony will be held inside.  Please note location is usually off site.  Details are listed in newsletters and the web calendar.

 

PLEASE BRING a drum or a rattle if you have one, and a gift for the fire of natural burnable material — flowers, sticks, pine cones, etc… You will use this to blow your prayers into and place in the fire to carry to Spirit.
