The Munay-Ki (pronounced moo-nye key) are the nine great rites of initiation of the medicine way. The word munay means “I love you” or “BE AS THOU ART.” The Munay-Ki are the nine rites of initiation to become a person of wisdom and power who has accepted the stewardship for all of creation.
Through the Munay-Ki process we begin to bring into our conscious awareness more of who we truly are at a soul level. As we awaken, we are able to live and create a much higher and fuller life filled with joy and peace.
The nine rites are common to all shamanic traditions, even though they are expressed in different forms and styles in different cultures. The rites of Munay-Ki are based on initiatory practices of the Inka and Pre-Inka shamans from the Andes & the Amazon in Peru.
Why is Munay-Ki Important to You?
The Munay-Ki are the nine gates that heal and launch us on a transformational journey to grow a new body that ages, heals, and dies differently. A body that is no longer informed by our genes, our ancestors, or by karma.

The Nine Rites
The first four rites are considered the Foundation Rites:
- Healer's Rite: activates your innate healing ability and assists in healing your own wounds.
- Seer: awakens your ability to perceive the invisible world of spirit.
- Bands of Power: act as filters to break down any negative energies that come your way.
- Harmony Rite: connects you to the organizing principles of the universe.
In the next level are the three Lineage Rites:
- Daykeeper: bring healing and balance to the Earth; stepping beyond fear and practice peace.
- Wisdomkeeper: helps you to step outside of time and taste infinity.
- Earthkeeper: brings healing and balance to any situation; helps you dream the world into being.
Concluding with the two Transformational Rites:
- Starkeeper: anchors you safely to the time after the great change that is said will occur on or around the year 2012. You acquire stewardship for the time to come and all future generations. Your DNA is reinformed and you become more resistant to disease.
- Creator: awakens the God-light within you. You acquire stewardship for all of creation.

Receiving the Rites:
Receive the Munay-Ki rites and learn how to integrate them into your life. Rites will be given over the course of four 1-hour sessions. Each rite will awaken a new transformation within yourself that will assist in your personal healing and protection, awaken the seer within you, and connect you to a lineage of medicine people from the past and the future.
You may do this alone or invite friends to join you. Each session will focus on two or three rites and be spaced about three weeks apart for a total of four sessions and nine rites. Cost: $35.00 per session.
The nominal fee is a way of exchanging energy for acknowledging the gift of the rite. The cost includes handout materials, mentoring through the process, and a Pi stone that is given when you receive the ninth rite.
Munay-Ki Training Class:
This is a 2-day workshop for those who have already received the rites and wish to learn to gift the rites to others. You will learn how to transmit the rites from yourself to others and how to teach others to do the same. We will explore the Inka tradition and our responsibilities with stepping onto the path of Munay-Ki. We will look at each of the rites in detail and the benefits they provide.
Workshop also includes working with personal mandalas (sand paintings), meditative breath work, and instruction in doing an outdoor fire ceremony in the tradition of the Andean shamans of Peru. We will conclude the training with a Fire Ceremony as a way to honor that which we have received and to release that which no longer serves us or the greater good.
Course is typically held over a weekend from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM each of the two days. Fee is $250 for the 2-day workshop; class includes a training manual, and instructional DVD.
